ADR-003 — Public hostnames are burrow.jasonkoch.io
Context
ADR-002 renamed the product to Burrow™ and kept the Vercel project slug vault plus the original vault.jasonkoch.io / vault-dev.jasonkoch.io hostnames. Those vault subdomains no longer match the product name. The apex jasonkoch.io is already on Vercel, so new subdomains can be assigned to the existing project.
Decision
Use these public hostnames on the existing Vercel project vault:
- Production:
burrow.jasonkoch.io(main, no git-branch assignment) - Preview:
burrow-dev.jasonkoch.io(previewgit branch) - Local:
http://localhost:3000
Do not rename the Vercel project slug. Do not set the engine secret on Vercel. Remove vault.jasonkoch.io and vault-dev.jasonkoch.io from the project after the Burrow™ hosts are assigned.
Alternatives
- Rename the Vercel project from
vaulttoburrow. Rejected: changingnamewould change the slug and break existing Git/Vercel wiring. - Keep the vault hostnames as redirects. Rejected: the owner asked to delete those vault subdomains.
Consequences
Site config, CI NEXT_PUBLIC_SITE_URL values, and docs use the Burrow™ hosts. Sprint 04 feature branches that still mention vault URLs stay out of this change until they rebase.
